For those who have been following me for a while would know i recently got paparazzi treatment by this pretty blogger for a magazine street style shoot, representing Melbourne fashion. Meet Miranda from Miranda's Inside Scoop. I first met her at the start of the year at the Nuffnang Fashionolpolis event. After hanging out with her i can say she is just so super cool yet so humble, i loved working with her. She even showed me her secrets of how she comes up with her hair dos for her posts. I also love that she is intrigued by Indian fashion which reminds me that i owe her a date go to ransack my mums saris.
Miranda’s Inside Scoop (The Style Specialist)
The first post went up on November 7th 2011. So we
will be celebrating our ‘1st Birthday’ soon!
What made
you start a blog?
I’ve always LOVED fashion, photography, writing, styling and posing - so blogging
provided a creative platform for me to inspire people through the things I live,
love and breathe ;)
What kind of
posts can we find on your blog?
Anything
and everything to do with fashion (on an international
level), as well as inspirational posts. There’ll be some poetry
(intertwined with fashion) here and there; sometimes too deep, sometimes
just silly… but I guarantee you’ll find
something you love and can relate to in the midst of all that.
Where do you
get inspiration for posts?
For inspiration I look to nature. There’s nothing that inspires
me more than the creation that is around us. If I find an amazing location for
a photoshoot, I will most likely work my outfit around that (not the other way
round). But for ideas, I have my favourite bloggers, my overseas travels, street
fashion, magazines, the World Wide Web as well as just everyday life to draw
from.
Does living
in Melbourne influence your style?
Without
a doubt! Melbourne is a very liberating city which allows me to push my
limits and be ME to the MAX without feeling the need to
“tone it down”. Yes, IT IS a city full of crazy, creative people, and I
find
that very freeing and inspiring as it brings out the best (and sometimes
the bravely insane) out of me ;p.
Favorite
place in Melbourne?
I love MagNation. It’s my little hideaway where I can take a style
journey to any country (while sipping on a soy hot chocolate), as they carry an
unparalleled collection of international magazines. It’s the ultimate Fashion
Library!
Favorite
places to shop?
Anywhere with a bargain really… Direct Factory Outlets / online.
But I do have a weakness for Forever New, Top Shop, Edgars, Foschini &
MrPrice ;p (the last 3 are based in
Southern Africa).
Describe
your personal style?
I’d say my default style is Tomboy Chic, but I am mostly
unpredictable. I do go through seasons where I am too girly, too boho chic, too
classic or even too ‘afrocentric’ ;) I guess I have what can only be termed as
MSPD - Multiple Style Personality Disorder. (Melbourne will do that to you ;p )
My rule of thumb is; when my hairstyle changes, I have to dress accordingly.
Yes, everything revolves around this mane.
What does
fashion mean to you?
I
see fashion merely as a tool for expressing one’s style…and STYLE to
me is one of the most personal and powerful ways to express oneself
without having to say a
word - So never let anyone silence you as we are all entitled to Freedom
of Style. (As long as it’s classy and it doesn’t hurt anyone). That
being said, GO FORTH & BE FABULOUS!

This chic's got mad swag!
