Concert : Rapture 2014 Melbourne - Eminem, 360, Action Bronson, J Cole & Kendrick Lamar9:00 AM
This by far the worst concert I've been to. Not because of the artists performance but of the crowd that was so very disrespectful to the artists. Before Eminem came on stage there was a star studded line up of talented rappers who were supporting him. As we walked in through the pouring rain (thanks Melbourne) and got into Etihad Stadium we saw rapper 360 performing. I've never gotten around to listening to him. The Aussie accent in raps kind of throughs me off but the crowd seemd to love him and sang along to his songs. Soon after up and coming US rapper Action Bronson came on stage. I've heard of few of his songs.
The minute he came on the filthy Aussie crowd started booing and bagging him asking "Why did you come to Australia no one knows you' I was so embarrassed to be in that crowd. The audience showed no respect.
It didn't change when J Cole came on. That was the main reason I payed $150 for rapture. I've seen Eminem & Kendrick live before so all eyes were on Jermaine. His performance was amazing. But the crowd making fun of him again put me off from enjoying the full experience.
Kendrick was welcomed with a bit more love. But it was nothing comapred to his first concert in the Palace Theatre after he just released Good Kid Maad City. You saw real hip hop fans there and thats what rapture was missing.
By the time Eminem came on his fans put me off and started pushing and being so rude that we just moved to the back as we were so sick of their negativity. I saw him last time he was here and the set wasn't too different.
The promoters really needed to identify there are different markets for Hip Hop Heads. Saying you love rap but not knowing who Jcole or Kendrick are makes you a noob. TDE are killing it this year. I would of preferred smaller itimate shows with legitimate fans rather than ratty rude bogans.
