Music Mondays - Formation Beyonce3:19 AM
No doubt Bey has been on the talk of the town over the last 24 hours.
She dropped a new song and video out of no where. Very Beyonce of her.
Not only does the song have a dope trap beat (Produced by Make Will Made-It) and empowering feel she tackles issues which not many A listers in power have.
From Hurricane Katrina, baby hairs and Afros to talking about her mans nose and Police Brutality. She throws her middle fingers up and lets us know that pretty packaged bey is not all there is and she is proud to be who she is and where she comes from. I think thats an important message for everyone. I saw some people on my newsfeed saying they didn't get the hype and it was boring. Guess they don't get the symbolic epicness behind the visuals. Unlucky them.
After the Coldplay video that got a lot of hate due to poor representation of Indians and their culture (did a post on it here) its great to see her bounce back with this.
Oh yep and how could i forget the Fashhhhhun. The video was styled by @MarnixMarni and @shionat and you see her slay in Chanel white lace, Gucci two pieces, Fendi fur and even wore Australian designer Zimmerman which makes me love the video that much more.
Check out Fashion Bomb Daily for more deetz on her steeze.
May she Slay Slay Slay the superbowl tonight.
Here are some of my favourites from the video which was directed by Melina Matsoukas.
